Much work to do yet as progress is slow. The motion and valve gear are taking shape but involves a great of time with little to show for it. Picks to follow.

Coupling Rods

Here are the coupling Rods Profile cut as mentioned last time. Also Cylinder Assy before fitting to frames.

Cylinders

The furnace is working at last so I now have a pair of cylinder castings complete with end covers and pistons fitted to the frames. Crossheads, piston rods and guide bars are also fitted.

Connecting rods have been profile cut and await machining, and I am working on the balanced slide valves at the moment.

Whilst waiting for a new supply of coke and new grate for the club foundry, I had a go at the smokebox and headlamp.

The chimney base is a aluminum casting using the gas furnace and the cap is fabricated from 16g brass sheet. Smokebox door is spun from 16g brass sheet and the ends 8mm aluminum.

We have now located and collected a supply of sunbright doubles from CPL in Leeds, so its back to casting next week.
